Hi all. New to the forum. Looking for some water cooling advice.

Ive finished my loop to a certain degree. As i have received my new card, i have temporarily taken the gpu out of the loop as i dont have the gpu block yet.

The pump is an alphacool as are both of the rads. The fittings are all barrow as is the cpu block.

Im running a Ryzen 1800x, msi a320 baszooka and a rtx 2080ti.

As you can see from the picture i have squeezed this all in a tiny case. (Granted i have a radiator setup on the outside of the case.)This was mainly due to the fact i wanted to get a working loop and not do this in a nice case that i may damage in the process. Now i have this working i am looking for advice on which case to buy that will fit all of the components in.

I know the build isn't pretty, but thats why im here to get layout advice and case advice. Many thanks in advance.

No budget. I don't want to spend silly money. But I'd quite like with a glass side.
It's my first build so am a tad confused by prefixes before cases ATX etc. I believe the one I have is a micro, so assume I need an ATX.
Thanks for your time .

No idea what silly money is to you mate, it’s important to specify a ball park budget.

A case can generally fit it’s specific board size, and all the smaller sizes. In order, the mains ones are :

- Mini ITX - tiny, one PCIE
- MicroATX - Small, 2/3 PCIE, usually 2x16 + 1x1
- ATX - Normal, duo pcie and connectivity compliment
- E-ATX - Extended version of ATX

Yours looks like mATX, so I assume you’ll want an mATX or ATX case, but without knowing exactly what you’re trying to fit in there, it makes it hard to suggest. So:
  • Is your motherboard definitely mATX?
  • How many radiators, what size, what thickness?
  • Do you want a small case, or are you happy with a mid-tower or full tower?
  • How many storage drives do you need to fit, and what type?
  • What is your budget?
  • Any colour requirements?
  • How do you want to manage the fans?
  • Are there any features which are particularly important to you that we’ve not covered?

I'll check on the mobo I didn't when I bought it!

I have one single fan rad and one double fan rad. They are both roughly 3" deep.

Case size I don't mind. I have plenty of space under the desk .

I have a single sad and one standard disk hardrive.

I don't really want to spend more than 300.

I don't mind on colour. Currently I allow the fans to run with the CPU header and system fan. They just do there own thing and I use a molex adapted to run the pump off of the psu.

Nope. Feature wise I just want it to be a standard case. I don't need RGB stuff or any fancy things. Just a couple usb on the front would be nice.

Thanks for your help .

I notice you're using the eisstation, what pump have you got in it? The D5?

Are the rads 120mm or 140mm?

3" is about 75mm, which is a very, very deep radiator. You might want to consider push pull on it. For reference I use 30mm, or 45mm. That radiator would never fit in the Meshify C, which is a case I was considering for you.

Because of the radiator depth you might find you have issues with some cases, because it's so thick. And you'll definitely need a bigger case, which unfortunately might make the small mATX board look rather silly.

Take a look at the Evolv X, it's absolutely stunning, and one of the best on the market. Well within your budget, although it has RGB. It has a fan hub, and actively controlling your fans is something you really should consider. It's crazy to have a WC loop and then let the fans run at default.

EDIT : I just looked at the photo on my pc. Are you only using one fan on that rad at the back? What fans are you using, are the pressure optimised?

Sorry just got home. Was off on the rad size .they are 2".

I assumed just having the fans running on the rads was best .but I'll do some further reading on it. Literally threw the build together so I could use a Vive Pro.

I'm using a single on the small rad and two floating fans on the rear rad .they are f12 fans.the two on the large rad are f12 pro pwm

If you're after a small cube case, one I had previously which I loved was a Thermaltake Core V21, very small case, and the one added beauty of it was all the side panels were the same size, so you can configure it and flip it around however you like, there was loads of options for it, and different radiator configs, Thermaltake are all about watercooling, this was my build in it:
