Watercooling Liquid

Just wanted to ask guys (and I know it will have probably been asked before)
but I'm getting my new system tomorrow and it comes with watercooling for the CPU but at the moment needs filling.

Now I need some suitable substance to put in it and I want to do it tomorrow so need to buy it from a shop, where can I get what I need?

To buy from a shop local? Only thing is de-ionised water from the local petrol station etc. Then later next week order Petra'sTech "PT_Nuke" Concentrated Biocide and add it in then your set for ages.
 
Ahhh thanks guys, so the deionised water it is- if I had time to wait for the feser I would hehe

Well, if it really is better, it should be measurable. The issue on recording temperatures is that most of us are lazy and rely on Coretemp or GPUz to tell us the temperature values. If you have an in-loop thermometer I would say you would be able to measure the difference. As to whether it's 1C, 2C or 10C, I couldn't say, but I only run Qualitex Icewater which is double distilled and micropore filtered for purity and sterility. It exceeds all EU standards for water purity, even better than the Feser stuff. The downside is it's almost impossible to get hold of unless you have a laboratory or you're prepared to take 1000l IBC quantities.
 
Algae WILL develop in black tubing if a clear res is used.

Distilled/Dionised water amount to pretty much the same thing - pure water with different purification methods used. Both are commonly used in watercooling due to their conductive (lack of) properties.

The more you add to water (dye/biocide), the less pure it becomes and hence the lower cooling properties it will have. However, this barely effects temps (<1c in most cases) so I wouldn't lose sleep over adding a couple of drops of PT_nuke/Iodine.

The trouble with premixed dyes is that all dyes start off life as powder and will, eventually, return to that state clogging up your rads and pin fin/impingement blocks without regular maintenance.
 
The specific heat capacity of water is very high, higher than most other liquids you'd even want to think about. Any impurity will lower its SHC, the mixture will have a final SHC in direct proportion to the amounts (by volume) of the two components. Take a look at this liquid chart, Ammonia is slightly better, wouldn't recommend it lol.
