is there any point of buying a case that comes prefitted with watercooling?
i dont know what kit to get, i dont wanna buy a case and have to fiddle for hours drilling spots just to fit it in nicely.. I want one with dual rads nad HAS to be best performer, while keeping quiet.

suitable for a conroe setup of course.

The problem buying a case per fitted with Water Cooling is it may not be the best stuff. I know of a store that builds high end water setups in LanLi cases.

Id definatly consider one of these as they cotain good stuff. Apart from that its not too much trouble fitting water cooling if you get the corect case.

Yer, the problem is i dont want to spend £100 just on a case..

and unless somebody can tell me exactly what parts i need i cant really help myself doing it. Need to know best performing kit, also i'd need to keep everything inside the case.. where would it fit? surely a dual rad wouldnt fit inside one.

I bought one of these. Highly Recommended. They did an excellent job, very friendly and you couldnt buy the bits for the price they charged.

ugh... well i could spend that much i suppose.. its just i hate having to spend so much on a case and it doesnt look anything great, i see the same everywhere though so not blaming OCUK or anything.

say £1200 absolute max, on the whole system.. since ill want a conroe processor aswell as new g card (that wont be until next year tho ill stick with the 6800GT for now) DDR 2 memory and a good mobo.

Ill probably just use the PSU from my current case for it, along with mouse and keyboard, for now at least.

you need to think weather u really need watercooling. Are you planning on overclocking the cpu etc or keep them at stock speeds with watercooling. Do you just want a slient PC?

picking up a watercooling setup will cost you cash, cash that could go elsewere if its not really needed. A good high quailty heatsink and low dB fan would work wonders such as the Big Typhoon from Thermaltake, excellant performance and price, and also very quite.

But its up to you, if you do go water cooling, swifttech blocks are very good :)

i'd like to go watercooling for the fact its a lot quieter than fan/hs and for the overclockability from reduced temps.

The thing i dont want to do is have to fiddle around with my case for a while just to set it up though, like drilling holes etc..

it all depends, for the easyness (or lazyness? :p) of it id prefer a heatsink/fan since its so simple.. but since they are not effective as cooling while being quiet, then im just not sure

Get a decent case, £40 under = Antec SuperLAN Boy; £80 under = Lian Li PC7+

then get a Zalman Reserator 1+. Nearly silent and it's got this "Cool" factor to it.

Sorted. :D

I was thinking of watercooling my new case I just bought, for my conroe rig. But since I have been running my E6300 @ 3.22Ghz with my thermaltake big typhoon I dont think I need to. My CPU @ load is about 45-50C and at idle 39-42C (thats with Core Temp Beta - Gigabyte Easy Tuner states my temp at 24C - dont believe that!). I think thats fine since its overclocked a hell of a lot - plus even if my system was water cooled I dont think I could push my chip any further - not because its the chips fault - just dont think that the board or ram can go much more!

Ok maybe if you are going to extreme levels - then yeah a good water cooled system would be an advantage, but I reakon because conroe chips run cool anyway, save your money, spend it elsewhere (like some great ram, better GFX, a nice air cooled quiet case etc) and get a High Quality CPU HS/Fan. There are lots of very quiet ones out there, my Big Typoon is certainly not loud! my 80mm fans are probably louder...

That's fanless, i remember reading a review of it.

Doubt it will be any good for overclocking.. probably better off with a koolance exos than that, lol.

Speaking of a koolance exos.. is there anything like that i could buy but a lot better and as good performing as a kit you put together yourself? or is that asking too much?

Best performing kit = PA120.3 : AquaExtreme MP-05 SP LE : Maze 4 GPU : Laing DDC+ with Alphacool or Radiical Top... t-piece and fillport, no reservoir.

You won't find much on the market that gets anywhere near. There are companies out there who'll fit whatever kit into whatever case for a minimal fee... you just have to look around a bit more...
