Waterloop Drain point advice

I don't see a rotatory joint in this assembly

There would be a standard compression fitting on the naked thread on the t-fitting.

No actual rotary fitting,a ghetto rotary if you like :D

Is this a big no no? Should i just buy and use a standard 90 fitting instead?

Well, first off it'll probably leak as there presumably isn't a o-ring in there? Also there's the possibility that it won't actually end up pointing in the right direction when you screw it in.

Theres are O-rings on each attached fitting. As for placement it should be pretty easy to screw it in to the angle i would want to use it.

Just an i idea i had,as it would save on space and look neater for for what im going for.

Have you tried fitting it yet?

You have to screw the fitting in tight enough to compress the O-ring to seal the joint, and if you don't have the rotatory joint, you might not be able to screw it in tight enough & have the naked port facing the right direction

Not yet,my extra fittings and rad should arrive on tuesday.

My plan is too attach this fitting to the rad before i put it in the case.

First i was gonna attach the male to male high flow fitting into the radiator. Then take the T-fitting and attach the temp plug and the standard monsoon compression fitting to it.

After this connect the T-fitting to radiator.First time it probily will be at the wrong angle, all i would have to do is take it off,re-orientate it and re-tighten.

After a few builds I have found a Quick Disconnect is a really usefull thing to have as a drain point. You can just plug in your drain tubing, no leakage and away you go.

Location wise, it did not matter too much for me, as the case was light enough to pick up and rotate to get the fluid out of the drain point.

On thing you could do is put the point next/near to the pump, then you can also use as a fill point.
i would use a ball valve. My qdc is stuck open.

Have heard bad things about koolance black QDCs. Paint comes off and they gunk up the fitting. Unfortunately I didn't know this until I installed 6 of the little blighters in my system. Will have to replace them in the mid to long term.

I've got a couple of old ones in a box that I left made up and one of them had seized in the open position when I popped it apart. I've also just bought a bunch of them for a new build I'm planning and noticed that they've changed the internals so they're not painted in the mechanism. The new style has gold writing on the outside and the finish is a lot more matt effect than the shinier old ones with the white writing.

Had to give the stuck one a whack on a hard surface to get it to pop shut again but it was still very stiff so put it under some hot water and made and unmade it a few times and it loosened off again.
