OMG, this is a classic. I remember when I lived at home, me and a mate went and got this we started playing it at about 3pm and didnt stop that night till about 3am. But I dont remember it being 1985.

But what a great game it was.

Had this originally on the Spectrum 48K+ (actually a friend had it before me on the same platform - must have been god.. 20 odd years ago - damn I feel old!).

The had it on the C64 - Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat owe a lot to this game. Without this there would have had no inspiration for them!

Exploding Fist was a pretty damn good game as I recall.

The controls were pretty good, considering you only had 1 button and the collision detection was good as well.

Its the daddy of fighting games at home, was obviously heavily influenced by Karate Champ in the arcades, but bettered it.

Sadly I find this game not as good. The contact doesn't seem as clean and the opponents seem harder. It's okay but nothing special. Certainly can't see why someone would pick this over a game that you can emulate perfectly well or in my case can play on the original C64

As stated completley different games. It was Way Of The Exploding fist then International Karate. IK+ was the sequel to International Karate and did something that no other fighting game did at that stage (and very little of them since have done this) it added a third person!
