Way to remove wiper marks from windscreen?

Hi,

Just bought a car for my wife and, though I didn't notice at first, in bright sunlight you can see a mark on the windscreen where the wiper has marked it. It's got decent new blades on now so I suspect this has occurred in the past.

Running my finger over the mark I can't feel it at all - is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

using a detailing buffer and light cutting compound would do it, take your time and itll certainly reduce the marking at least.
 
When I detail my car I not only clay the paintwork, I also clay the windows.
This results in the water blowing up the windscreen in the rain when travelling at 30mph+. Claying removes are the crud that is so stuck to the paint (or glass) that it has glued itself to it.

Do not use a polishing machine on any surface that has not been clayed! I have no idea whether they can even be used on glass.
 
Replace the window tbh. You can cut it using cerium oxide, but if you don't do it evenly enough then you'll end up with distorted glass. Paintwork cutting compounds won't even touch glass, not even the most hardcore ones.
 
If it is scratched conventional polish is unlikely touch it.
Taking a buffer to it should also be excercised with caution. Too much heat and the glass can distort.

Thanks for the replies. I did actually try claying it as I happened to have some to hand - not sure it's made much difference though.

I'm not sure if its actually scratched - it doesn't feel like it is, but it doesn't seem to want to go away!
 
It's really not bad enough to warrant replacing the screen to be honest. Just slightly visible in bright sunlight.
