hi i was wondering is it is possible to restart a belkin router without doing it through the reset button, or through the 192.168 thing. basically im connected to a router through wire, however the router has a password on it so i cannot restart it through the 192 thing. also the room in whic the router is in is locked. all i need to do is restart the router so i can get the internet back, bacause it says 'not connected'.

thanks

Failing that, find the circuit breaker for that ring main and flick it.

or just pull out the power supply from the router lol :D

FInd the mains power box in the mains power box in the cellar or wherever it is. Flick the sockets on then off :D

yea did that, but its not very practical, as in it means everything get turned off. as hoping there was a lil backdoor or something

yourll find a lot of real life networking products arnt like the movies, where there are 'backdoors' and such to get access to devices. If a developer ever did code some sort of back door into a device, chances are he would keep it secret, If it became public knowledge that a networking device has a known backdoor to log into it, then chances are it wouldnt sell very well.

erm....... if the router is in a locked room open it? If the router is not yours then what the hell you doing trying to reboot it?
