Ways to pass time at work...

Take all the Paperclips and any Parcel string you may have and try out your Engineering prowess building a miniture suspention bridge betweent the piles of unfinished work currently sitting on your desk?

Or try and build a paper bridge between two desks, obviously the larger the distance the harder to make, beats some piles of work :p

How about as your off next week you play practical jokes on the others in your office like superglue the phone down or completely cover a mates desk and PC in post its. Plus, as youve a week off it will give them plenty of time to get you back and will mean that you A) have something to look forward too when you do come back and B) Will have to spend at least 2 hours sorting out whatever they do meaning you wont have to start work straight away!

i find the harder i work and i dont concentrate on the time and give it 110% time really does fly...

I used to really like it here... but recently, with the crappy pay I'm on (was originally employed as a Vetting/Personnel Officer - first full time job offer as soon as I came out of college) and with my status in the compan being Network Administrator/IT Manager I just feel I'm having the pee taken out of me.

Good news is, the company has just landed themselves a massive contract. So I should soon get the payrise I'm owed.

GraemePaul, your suggestion seemed like it would be fun. So off I trotted to the stationary cupboard where I found a box of paperclips...

Behold, the bridge that connects Pen City to Paperama!

I like to pass the time by fantasising about giving the 17 year old girl on my team a good seeing too in the disabled toilets, though it does make it hard to concentrate when I actually have to do some work!

So, you feel like you can rolleyes me without knowing my situation at all?

Yeah, I guess you'd be perfectly content with building/fixing/repairing computers, maintaining a computer network, being on-site support AND saving the company hundreds of pounds by getting failed web/e-mail servers back up and running... twice... all for £5 an hour.

I'm not even employed as that... I've just gained that title and my boss hasn't reflected that in my pay... even though in the original interview he did say "We look after our employee's"

Anyone who so blatantly skives on time they are being paid for deserves a rolleyes and more no matter their job description or situation. Yeah I would be content with that right now as doing bugger all for £5 an hour sounds very appealing.
