WC & Lian-Li A10

looks like plenty of room to me. Although you may loose the first PCI slot mounted at the rear.

Hi weescott and thanks for your reply, my rad is a swiftech MCR220 are you sure fitting it on the rear will be ok? Looking at this photo http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cases/Lian_Li_PC-A10/1014.htm I'd say it won't fit as it will interfer with more than one PCI slot and have no space to drill holes for the tubing. I understand that mounting the rad on top isn't idea for any air bubbles and dust, however the case is ready made for that and everything lines up perfectly with no drilling required..

Thanks too RJC, as I'm at work sercurity restrictions stop me from viewing your pictures. I'll look at them when I get back home this PM...

Don't know if this is of any help, the link below shows my water cooling setup, it has changed now from that picture only in the removal of the water cooled graphic cards.

Hi Rob, those photos do help me although I might change how you have the rad so it is flush with the case, do you think that will cause any issues and have you removed the original blow-hole fan? Also it looks like you have the pump and the res mounted in the drive bays with one over the other?
Many thanks....

Hi Chris, originaly as shown in the pictures the fan was removed, now on my new setup the fan is installed.

If you want to mount the radiator flush only problem I see is the holes in the case are slightly too far back (can take a pic if you want), as my pipe's have a small dog leg to reach the inlet / outlet of the radiator, not sure if this affects all radiators as mine is the Swiftech kit. Im not sure if the rad box has enough movement to compensate for this.

I recommend remove the fan as the rad fan would be fighting the case fan if you do manage to mount it flush :).

My pump and res are mounted in the bottom of the drive bays, as you mentioned one above the other :).
Had to remove a cross member to install, but there is plenty of room down stairs next to the PSU for the pump, I mounted these there due to the ease of installing and keeping the pipe run minimum.

Hope the above helps

Rob

Hi, thanks for that advice Rob, you've been a great help. I've had second thoughts about mounting the rad flush as I think the installation will be made easier by the threaded spacers, I've the same rad as yours. I'm also considering mounting the pump next to the PSU as you've suggested. That way I don't have to remove that cross member, as you've done, and I can easily lift out the res to make it higher than the rad when expelling air.

I'm going to attempt the build on mon/tues, when the last of my memory heatsinks should be here.

Thanks again...

No probs ChrisC, good luck with your build.
Don't forget to stick some pictures in the watercooled gallery :).

Hi again, I'm sort of almost there, got all the hardware installed and now just need to sort out the piping. However I think I'm having a bit of a struggle getting the pipe to go on the vga connectors fully, I soaked the pipe in near boling water for quite a while but I can only just getting over the 'barb', if that's the correct term. I pushed as hard as I can dare, if I pushed any harder then I'm sure I'll break something.
How far do the pipes have to go on before they form a watertight seal?
Many thanks....
ChrisC

Try using some fairy liquid around the barb, it should go right down to the bottom.
Some of them can be a pain!

Rob

Apply pressure to one side of the barb when pressing on the tubing, then another then another...this works fine for me. 3/8" tubing on 1/2" barbs. :D

Hi, thanks both of you, I was thinking about giving it a go with hot water and washing up liquid tomorrow. I think I'll take both the graphics cards off so I can hold onto the cooler instead of just pushing down and there's not a lot of space anyway. I've also got the wrong type of worm drive hose clips, they're slightly too wide and very stiff to screw up...

Hi, well I'm nearly there, just got a couple more pipes to go, jeez the washing up liquid makes it so easy, I'm so stupid sometimes :-) It's taking a little longer than I expected but that's because I can't work on all the time due to other stuff going on. Tomorrow morning I should be able to do a leak check and put up some pictures of the completed setup.
Thanks...
ChrisC

Hi, well I've just about done, final thing is to tidy up all the cables but I thought I'd post up some pictures and thank you guys again:

I've one problem since, I can't get into my bios screen anymore, the screen is blank. I can hear the PC going into the bios setup, and it obviously works fine in Vista, but no screen display in setup, any clues?
Thanks...
