Ok just finially going to be getting most of my watercooling this january and was wondering what ppl thought of the fit.

Also my idea for the pump was an MCP655 (laing D5) however i've noticed u cant use compression fittings with it. Does anyone know of a decent pump of that kinda power that can use compression fittings ?

Also in terms of res what is ppl's suggestions inside/outside? Bay res/fitted? problems etc.

list
EK Supreme cpu block
Thermochill P120.3 rad
Swiftech MCP655
Tygon Neoprene Tubing 1/2 id 3/4 od
with compression fittings on as many parts as possible
Cd drive bay res..

This fit is going to be used with my old system till i can afford the i7 upgrade. So the 360 rad is there for a reason. Along with this the watercooling setup will be monitored by a bigng to control the speed of the pump so any pump would have to have a 3 pin connector to monitor its speed.

I personally would get a DCC 18w with a xspc top. That's what I have and it works well. Can take compression fittings.

If you have the bay res, then use it. Otherwise get the xspc top/res for the DCC.

I have all mine inside, but my case is built for it. Just depends on your case if you want to put in inside or outside.

yea will be moved to a lian li monster later. I was a little concerned with the DDC only because its the baby version of the MCP. So im a little concerned that when i move to i7 it wont be able to handle the heat and the amount of blocks in the system (gpu and cpu block). Also will i get any more problems if i think about adding any more blocks ?

Dont have the bay res yet but just that was my idea at the time due to the MCP655

ahh ok cool so pretty much whatever the MCP can handle the DDC can. I was just a little concerned cause first time wc'ing so in pictures the DDC looks a lot smaller and strangly shaped (well considering how the MCP is made (one movin part)). So presumed it wasn't as powerful so is there any benefit of getting a MCP at all then ? (just curious)

The base DDC is not as ggod as the D5 but the D5 is not easily moddable to make it any better and it's big compared to a DDC. Yes the D5-Vario has a nice speed control but the DDC and its after-market tops make it more flexible and easier to fit into your loop. Get it with the XSPC-reservoir top and you have a pump which is extraordinarily easy to use, fill, bleed and has lots of power.

Yea see your reasoning. However do remenber that space will not be a problem as will be fitted inside a Lian-Li PC-V2110B which has the lower compartment (going to remove the hard drive bays). Hopefully this should mean i have plenty of space. Also i heard that u should have the resivoir at the highest point in the system, any truth in that ?

However im only concerned with power as space is no problem whatsoever. So the benefits of the DDC is that it can use compression fittings etc (depending on the distributor) and can use different tops. While the D5 is completely unmoddable but is slightly more powerful. The whole system will be monitored so looking to get the best performance from the pump and thats my only concern (apart from the fact that i would like to use compression fittings just to be overkill). So on shear performance would u say its still better or does having the different tops swing it (e.g. extra performance top), if u didnt have to worry about space?
