hi all,
can someone help me with my western digital sata II hard drive, i have tried to copy documents and other files from the hard drive but when i doo my system seems to freeze every few seconds as my music and mouse pointer both flitch, the drive is fine when copying files from another drive to it, it just doesnt want to let me copy files from it and sometimes i get an error which goes along the lines of 'cyclic redundentcy check' or somthin like that, what i want to know is, is my hard drive borked or can somthing be done to save it

TYIA

i went on the WD website and they said that i have to have proof of purchase before i can get an RMA number and unfortunatlly i dont have it anymore as it was like 6 months ago so i guess i will have to by a new drive but not a WD as thats the second thats done that, i guess it will only be a matter of time before the other one goes. LOL

That's utter BS from WD - I have never needed any proof of purchase. All they need to know is the serial number of the drive. It is the drive that is warrantied and not the person - unless of course you bought a retail and not OEM drive...
no itwas on OEM, i will contact WD and see what they say, thanks for the info
