So i'm installing XP on my new rig, all going well, except it only seems to think my two 320GB disks are 128GB in size. it's an XP-SP1 install, anyone have any clues what could be causing this? A bios setting or some additional driver i need to load pre-windows setup?

Does your BIOS report it as 320GB? If not update that.
If XP install says 120GB on the DOS screens setup I would try using updated SP2 install (installed with XP SP2 slipstream onto 320GB WD no problems)

Ah good call. The bios got the name right, but i didnt check for any physical size attribute. Or, i don't remember checking, in all the excitement at the thing actually booting i was somewhat elated and unfocussed.

As soon as it's done creating the 128GB partition (which i decided it might aswell do, and then i'll see what XP thinks is there when it's installed) i'll go back and check the bios. thanks!

you need windows xp sp1+ to see hds over the size of 137gig

i good tip for u is if u got a pc with windowx xp and sp1+ installed plugin the hd and format it then use it in your system

if you aint got another pc use a m8s :)
