WD AAKS: Bigger = quicker?

I'm pretty sure the 750Gb AAKS is a 3 platter design using 250Gb platters, the rest of the range uses 166Gb platters so the sustained transfers are slightly slower.

EDIT: It's actually a 4 platter design so 188Gb platters - still quicker than the rest of the range though.

also the new 750gb one is the only one to use the new tech that others have been using like NCQ and PMR. the smaller drives will benifit from them eventually but as yet they dont. I am litrally about to order my 7500AAKS now because its a good buy for £127.

The 400Gb WD4000AAKS has NCQ and the other stuff as well.
I just go one from OverClockers.
It's the quietist drive I have ever had so far.
It formats to around 370Gb(out of 400).
Some of their other smaller drives have NCQ as well.
