wd external low level format problems

i wanted to erase all info from these drives for sale
i used acronis secure erase via a boot cd rom
i started to erase the first drive and at some it stopped so i removed it and took it to format on another pc, it could not be initalized in windows
i then tried a tool from wd which zeros the drives and that was producing write errors, so i removed the drive from the housing and tried to format it in my pc
now the pc wont detect it at all

not really sure what to do now, i seem to be stuck with 2 dead drives that had no problems before using acronis


any ideas before i burn them

for those who might have been intrested, fixed by wiping the drives with parted magic

The bad sectors will probably still be on the drives, try running the Western Digital utility again, if it passes the full test then sell them, if it fails rma them.
