WD External - Win 7 64 Bit cannot see it ?

Hi

strange one for me

external wd passport i think - ntfs , seen and used on my old xp laptop

plug it into new win 7 64bit and seen in disk mgmt

no drive letter

not seen in normal windows explorer at all

help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've deleted all the usb ports to let win 7 refind them which it did just in case
but no difference

in disk mgmt

right click - change drive letter and paths and sorted

maybe i've had xp so long i forgot i had to do that years ago

Disk management - Right click - Assign drive letter - OK

Think this is the options (im not at a win7 pc)
