Hi All

I got my 120GB Passport drive last week and have only just gotten round to extracting it from the packing (I do wish there was an easier way to get such packaging open!).

I have reformatted it as NTFS using the W2K Disk Management method and am in the process of transfering approx 60GB of backup data and it does appear to be very quick ~ timing at approx 72minutes.

A few things struck me so far -
--the drive does vibrate a little, if held in the hand it is easily felt to be vibrating.
--however it is very quiet, you have to put your ear right on it to hear the drive whirring.
--I transfered the various files before reformatting as NTFS and copied them back afterwards but whereas the drive auto started the selection 'window' before the reformat it no longer does so and I have lost the WD logo in windows explorer. No big issue but why does that happen?
--it runs warmish. Again no issue but how warm do the Passport drives run?
--why such a short USB cable!

Has anyone found a good protective case for it that is thin walled enough (but protecting) to let you still carry in the pocket?

Oh, is anyone using WD sync? If so, how does it compare to other such sync tools?

:)
