(had a crash while writing this first time so probably lost some good material)

Over the last few days my pc has been showing bad signs, and they have basically got worse:

One morning woke up to a black screen and the pc wouldnt come out of sleep mode

Next i finally got a message of the culprit but it still left me confused. Message: "*** STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x8054D5F0, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F)" Followed by "dumping physical memory" or something like that.

Next thing i noticed was i could hear the sound the hard drive makes when i select to shutdown my pc (the hd would make a click noise and then a sound like it was spinning down) except it was doing it while the pc was still on! lol

Finally i got a different message while restarting it after it crashed, something like "system disk failure, please insert and press enter" in other words it couldnt find my main hd :/

So i searched through old topics on this forum and through google and most of the conclusions were: hard drive, ram or psu. (going to test ram later lol)

Now here is where i need advice, i think it is the hard drive, but i dont want to end up RMA'n my 4 month old raptor to WD to have them replace it with a refurbished one when there was nothing wrong with my brand new one, thus kicking myself in the teeth.

These are the symptoms shown why i think its the HDD:

The system disk failure message
The hard drive spinning down while my pc is on

now i know one of the screenshots takes a poke at the obvious problem but please no funny comments :p. I do not want to make any decisions without getting input from people who know what they are talking about first because i do not want to make a stupid decision and regret it lol.
There are still a few points that make me wary on deciding its the main hard drive. Them being:

I noticed the temperature of my North Bridge is 49-54 while i was using everest and speedfan was showing it in the danger zone (the small flame)
The M;/ partition i created on my second hard drive (seagate baraccuda 500gig) which holds my iTunes etc mp3s has become corrupted some how, and here is the message from the error log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Ntfs
Event Category: Disk

Now i must say there is no error from this or the disk check didnt appear after my pc crashed while i was writing version 1 of this speech :P.

I do apologise for the extremely lengthly post but im not too good at explaining things in short but good detail lol. So hopefully not too many people get bored a quarter way through and give up reading the rest xD. I only really need suggestions from experienced others so that i know i am not making the wrong decision and not ending up with a rubbish refurb when i didnt need to lol.

Anyway thanks for taking time to read this chaps, if you made it this far down you deserve it lol.

m8 had the same problem as yourself.

spindle was shot on the drive, he had to send it back to WD in germany, took about a mth to sort as it was over the xmas period last year.

your drive may fail soon.

whaaa? I thought Raptors were uber-reliable and such, is this a common problem?
they are ******* rubbish imo, my 36gb drive is very hot even with 2 hd coolers on, noisy to say the least, performance is pretty rubbish for the cost and its only sata 1 why not make a sata 2 version to keep up to date
