WD rator 0 array and whether to partition

I have 2 WD 74gig rartors in raid 0, I was wondering if it is ok to partion this drive into about 3 or 4 partitions next time i do a full install. so that the 1st partition remains fast, as i do a lot with dvds and games, and I just think it woulds be better to partition it, does anyone see any problems with doing this.

I have 2 X 74Gb Raptors in RAID0, I didn't partition them during the install, but immediately afterwards using Partition Magic 8, partitioned as follows:

C:\ - 10GBs, Windows XP + Programs

D:\ - 64.2GBs, My Documents + Data

E:\ - 64.2GBs, Games

This works fine for me.

This is the way i thought of doing it, almost identically, So you dont have any problems, not installing games to drive C then? this has been a worry, for me, not installing to drive c might cause probs

Most games will accept being installed to any drive letter you care to use, it is mainly older or poorly coded games that cannot accept anything other than c:\.

My question though is why do you want to combine a drive and then split it up again? It probably won't matter that much but you are likely to lose some speed particularly if/when copying from logical drive to logical drive that you wouldn't if you were copying physical drive to physical drive.

Firstly the drive is combined for faster throughput through raid 0. And secondly, I just want to keep my drive C as clean and small as possible, as I notice a deteriation in speed as the months go by, this I put down to constantly moving large dvd files, and game dvds, I also instal a lot of differant proggys for trial, and then uninstall, so I want to keep the C partition , clean. (I defrag almost daily with diskeepkeeper 10)
I do understand your point about physical drives and partitions, and I already have my 250g hitachi in use for storage, I just feel it's a better way to go with my large array,
