Hello All,
I Currently have a DS918+ running with 4x WD Red 3TB , over the past 2 years I have had to sent back 2 drives to WD as my Synology detected bad sectors on the drives.
Now this morning my NAS has detected a "Failing" drive After running a SMART extended test and was advised by synology to put the drive into a caddy and run the WD Diagnostics test on my pc , its currently running a extended test - 28 hours to go
Are WD RED Drives known for high failure rate or am I just unlucky ?
I think this drive which has failed is out of warranty , if it is - what are the best drives to replace it with , can you mix and match drives ?
