Hi all,

I purchased a couple of the above in 3TB form in Sept. 2015 for £70 each. Today they are over £100 each!

What's going on with the prices? Surely this rise is too pronounced for Brexit alone?

Cheers.

I paid £90 each for 2 3TB drives in 2014. It's more to do with the $=£ exchange rate which is not good right now.

Yeah, the least reliable drives in the world... :p

Reminds me, need to look into replacing one of my Seagate 3TB drives, it's been failing for the past 12 months! lol

Can't really complain tbh...it's be used continues for the last 4 years without a problem! lol

HDD prices have been going north for a while, I was lucky and never paid over £200 for any of my 6TB Reds. Even managed to get an 8TB Seagate Archive drive for £167!

It can be. Keep an eye on the deal sites such as HUKD, etc.

Interesting, looks like it's better for higher capacity models. The 16Tb version (I.e 2x8TB) is over £100 cheaper on the WD website without any offers.

Looks like my synology we be getting a nice upgrade.

I can remember doing this a number of times a few years ago but I was always unsure of the warranty situation of the drives, I pretty sure when I looked them up on the "warranty site" it knew these were part of a "enclosure" and not a retails drive, maybe it's changed.

Did you have to sell your soul for that price? Wish I could scoop up those bargains.
