Are these drives worth it? I currently have WD Red 3TB for my Synology and I am looking for something for my PC. I do a lot of photo editing etc and i just found the WD red was a little slow in my machine and was wondering if I would notice much difference with a WD Red PRO

The Red Pro's are better than the standard Red's but most of the features are designed around raid and power consumption and stabilization. These are really to be used in NAS Units that have 8 or more drives or in the Rackmount NAS boxes. You can still use it in your PC as a single drive but you will not see a lot of performance increase.

Thanks for the info :) Nice to see a member of staff giving the truth rather than peddling the most expensive option :)

Thanks for the info LordBarrass, I'm just really not sure what to buy, don't really want to go the black route. the WD blue sounded perfect but they don't make large drives. may just hold out until 1TB SSD come down some more.
