Disktest gives this:

check_FAT: Unusual media descriptor (0xf0!=0xf8)
Warning: Incorrect number of heads/cylinder 16 (FAT) != 1 (HD)
Warning: Incorrect number of sectors per track 32 (FAT) != 1 (HD)
EFI System 40 409639 409600 [EFI]
Mac HFS 409640 3906766983 3906357344

What's wrong with it, how do I fix it?

All the files are there, I just can't get at them! :confused:

id download the wd lifeguard tools, last time I had a wd 1tb that didnt get detected in windows and barely in bios I ran the bootable disc and it said something like " we detected a failing drive would u like to repair it so u can transfer files" ive never clicked so fast on the yes button ;)

took 15hrs but got my files.... hours after it died, give it a go I guess nothing too loose.. either that or a good data recovery software like recovery my files/power data recovery maybe could work.

Well, that lasted well. Won't even write zero's to it now and took an hour just to format it.

Cream crackered it is. WD Advanced replacement on it's way.

Edit: What do people think about software RAID1?
