So I bought a new WD25EZRX to replace my WD20EARS, and a USB3 enclosure to use the EARS as a backup in, both formatted as GPT. What I did:
Copy what I want from the EARS to the EZRX in the USB enclosure (about 1.7 TB). No problems. Remove EZRX from USB enclosure and put in PC. Put EARS in USB enclosure. Refomat EARS. Now, whenever I'm trying to backup to the EARS, periodically (anything from 5 minutes to an hour or so), the copy fails because the EARS disconnects and immediately reconnects, like it is momentarily powering down. I know the USB enclosure is not at fault because when copying to the EZRX when it was in the enclosure there was no problem. Is this something to do with the EARS head parking issue?
