Hi guys,

Quick question, does anyone know if updating the WD Green drives using wdidle wipes the content of the drive?

I've got backups but it takes a while to copy the data back to the drives afterwards

It won't wipe the data.

Hi, GDL.

Although @KIA's right, it's good that you have a backup of your data before you go through this procedure. I've done it numerous times without a single glitch, but after all, this changes a bit the firmware of the drive, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
