We all dream of a team of Carraghers...

He's orsom for sure, do you think Liverpool will survive without him?
He has one of the strongest Scouse accents ever and without that they're ruined. Gerrard is a bit twangy but not in the same league as Carra and all the great Liverpool teams of the past have had that winning dialect, they're going to have to sign someone like John Bishop if they want to compete going forward.

It's not just their ability or their own performance in isolation, it's their mentality and everything else they offer to the team. Carragher wouldn't just know his job, he knew every other players job and would make sure they were told if they weren't doing it.

True and they make very good team players and usually set the standards for others to follow

Not at all, he is naturally one of thee most intelligent footy thinking people in the game now. I'd say he will be offered a coaching role in the reserves before being taken into the first team coaching staff in a couple of years down the line.

Really? What do you base that on? :o

Nice bloke, good player and great servant for Liverpool and may one day be a decent manager but I think you are getting a little emotional :p:D:p

Reads the broadsheets is my guess and understands 4-2-3-1? He'll be a pndit on sky next season, the current management team have made no offer for any sort of role within the club.

Where has that come from? Chris Bascombe, who knows Carragher very well seems to think that (in the short-term at least) it's Carra that wants a clean break and that he won't entertain any offers of coaching roles. The talk is that he's been lined up by either Sky or BT as a pundit.

As for Carra's knowledge of the game - he's football mad. I remember reading about when we drew Barca in the CL a few years back, Carra spent ages (in his own time) studying the finest details of movements and runs the likes of Ronaldinho make and how he saw some kind of pattern or trigger movement Ronaldinho makes before doing some trick that he felt gave him an advantage when we played them.

Great servant of the club, and for a few seconds one of the best CB's in the league.

.

Agreed ;)

He's been average for 3 or 4 years now so it's overdue but he was very good up until he retired from international football to concentrate on club football. Hopefully a future manager rather than a pundit.

His name was on the back of my last shirt, a great GREAT player. Defenders don't often get the recognition they deserve to an extent, he has just been fantastic for us over the years. Him & Stevie have provided the heart for the team for a long time now.
