We hate Valentines thread

Why does it take one day in the year to show your partner you love them?
Why is there so much hype surrounding this day? It's just a marketing gimmick blown out of proportion by large scale companies wanting to make money!

It's such a shame seeing so many people buying expensive gifts for their partners. It's rubbish.

I hate Valentines.

well if you hate valentines day you can substitute it for celebrating my b'day

Gladly! Come to London i'll buy you a pint. The birth of a person is a joyous occasion. Loving someone you intend to be with is not!

Might as well have a Banana Day where we buy gifts for each other for people who have eaten Banana's.

how odd. most people would be quite joyous of finding someone to love.

It come out wrong What I meant to say is we don't need a day to express something that's self explanitory - the guy/woman loving their partner. And we don't need expensive gifts to illustrate this.
