People....a poll is required

as some of you know im ordering a new astra SXi next week

and cymatty (bloody git :p) has been questioning whether i get a 3dr or a 5dr, when i spoke to the nice lady today i automatically went for the 5dr as its just so convient!!! and ill be paranoid of a 3dr when people get in and out from scuffy their feeton the insides and using the lent over seats and levers to get in and out.

i mean like i say i love both, just wanted other peoples opinions.

Yes a 5dr is more convenient, but the 3dr looks miles better.

Why buy a sporty car that looks like every other astra?
 
I've said 3 door based on looks. I'm quite a fan of the new Astra, it's certainly a massive improvement on the Mk4!

The 3 door looks like a sporty car. The 5 door looks like an astra.

If you bought the 5 door you would know it was a fast car, everyone else would think it was a repmobile or hire car.
 
5 simply becuase it doesn't have a stupid name like Sport Hatch.

What is it with this damn word?

I mean ok, have a Sport model in the range with a bit more poke or a bodykit (Yes Ford, thats a bit more poke or a bodykit, so the Focus Sport model is a total let down with its black plastic rubbing strips and door handles), Astra 2.0 Sport is fine, but to actually call an entire bodyshape a 'Sport Hatch'? It's pathetic.

But not as pathetic as Renault, who did the same thing and then picked the most ridiculous sounding trim levels ever.

'Yea, I got a Megane Sport Hatch Extreme, yes its a 1.4'

But no, the crown surely must go to Audi who not content with having a trim level called Sport, decided to call the 5 door A3 a 'Sportback'.

'Yes, I have an Audi Sportback Sport'

How stupid does that sound? I'd just feel like a plank every time I told somebody I had a Sport Hatch.
 
Its not the VXR, its not anywhere near it, it is a convieniant car, not a sporty car. Why have none of the sporty feartures of a car, and none of the conviniant ones either? go for 5 doors.
 
I prefer the looks of the 3 door. If you do a lot of people shifting, go for a 5 door. If you harldy ever have people in the back, go for a 3. :)
 
3dr, definately. Unless you have a specific need for the 5 doors (convinience for kids etc.) then I see no reason why you would want an uglier 5 door :confused:
 
Whan can we start calling the 4-doors. The one at the back is not a door, you don't get in or out of the car through it. Its sole purpose is so you can throw stuff in the boot. It's not a door, it's a bootlid, at best it's a hatch.

Get the 4-door, it makes life easier :p
