Tbh, if the only difference in ornamental usage is that the ornamental ones mostly have poor quality grips/handles, then i could probably get a way with just buying a 'high end' ornamental one, with higher quality grips & cut out the maintenance.
On the above thought, hows about this one(top item):

Come to think of it actually, theres a shop in town that sells swords!
Cant belive i forgot it was there! :p. I'll go and have a look at what they've got when i get back in the country! lol.

Yup you can do that, buy high quality tsuba, tsuka, saya, hakaki, fuchi and use a cheap stainless steel blade. When it's sheathed it'll look like a good quality sword, only on closer inspection and unsheathed it'll show the blade quality.

Buy what now?

Im not looking for something to show off to people who love swords, so im not too bothered if its not completely authentic. :p

Buy what I said, buy all the parts except for the blade then fit together. As long as the stainless steel blade is standard fit (handle pin and shape) you can just make your own from parts. When/if you want a proper blade you can then buy a proper forged blade and use the quality fittings on this blade.

Seems like a lot of work for something that (and i repeat again), will never be used as a proper sword and is purely decorative.
I suppose i'll check out the shop in town when i get back in the country.
