A recent walk up Snowdon saw me leaving my rx100 in my pocket most of the time, as the weather was pretty horrific. I'm looking at weather sealed dlsr's (in addition to the rx100, not to replace it) but it looks like the option for weather sealed starts fairly high up in the ranges for both Canon and Nikon.

I've no qualms with buying second hand.. is there any option other than a Pentax k50 or ks2 when it comes to low cost weather sealed bodies?

Have you thought about looking at the Fuji X-T1, once the X-T2 is released later this year, you should be able to grab a decent deal.

get a cheap under water housing for the RX-100 problem solved! You won't need one of the ega expensive ones as you won't actually be going diving with it!

I did that - I got a Dicapac WP 570. However, it's hard to press any buttons, it's impossible to turn the dials, and you still get rain drops all over the lens bit, because there's no lens hood.

I reckon I'll actually use it underwater at some point, so it (hopefully) wasn't a wasted purchase though :)

you can see below the rain drops/smears I got - but I kept this picture as I liked the effect the rain had on it.

Go Micro four thirds? Both the olympus em5 mark ii and em1 are weather sealed with a range of weather sealed lenses too,

I took mine to the luminere in Durham in torrential rain and it all worked fine :)

Actually been thinking about this for a while but barring a lens cover of some type there would appear to very little you can do concerning droplets on a lens. I have often wondered whether or not it would be worthwhile nano coating my Sony rx100 body though ( just for that little extra water resistence/proof?)
