Weather widgets for Android

BBC app is great. It knows where you are and updates to your location. There is also a dropdown box so if your location is not quite correct you can set it manually.

BBC Weather is one of the few Android apps to come from them which is brilliant (the Sport one is OK I suppose, but it used to use 100% CPU until recently for some reason). Clearly the Weather devs are actually devs who use their own products when they added Dashclock functionality.

Yep, even shows the name of my village whereas most other apps snap to the nearer, larger village or the town 12 miles away.

I actually use Notification Weather. It isn't a widget per se but it runs in the notification bar. I prefer it to having a weather widget covering my wallpapers

How have you managed to get the notification shade to cover the nav bar? That's not normal

Erm I've been in training mode all day and completely dumb as to what your question means however I am using Purity Rom (4.4) with Immersive Mode on? Would that be it?

Yeah probably, I would assume that 'immersive mode' means stuff can flow over the nav bar.

I use Accuweather 2x2 widget, and that's definitely location-aware. Auto refreshes every hour, but can be reduced to once every 6 hours or to manual refresh only.

I still haven’t found a widget as nice as the one that Samsung pre-load on the handsets.

It does everything I need:

1. Location aware.
2. Clock
3. Pretty graphics/pics
4. As well as press on it for a weekly forecast.
5. I can press an update button to refresh widget.

It's an accuweather widget, but Samsung must alter it as it is not the same as the accuweather app in the store.

As sad as it sounds, this is proving to be a major block on me getting a Nexus 5.

download a weather app you like an link the hotspot from uccw to that weather app so when you click on you'll get 5/day etc forecast..

Was also playing with Yahoo! Weather (the icon in the Notification tray) but keep going back to BBC

Im a stock kind of person really.

The problem with the BBC app is it's fugly.
