A blocks a block, you shouldnt be bypassing it in the firstplace. Sorry
 
If you want access to IM, speak to the IT dept and ask for MSN to be installed on a PC that you use and get access through the firewall.

If you do not feel comfortable doing that - Then use IM when you get home.

we can use the it centre to go on when we donthave classes its for viruses that we are not allowed to install anything,

Then ask the people who support the PC's if you can get MSN installed on the PC.

They have blocked access via the firewall to many of these sites for a reason.
MSN not on PC's? For a reason.
I think they don't want you to use IM. :p

Gmail has an IM facility.
It can also be blocked independently of GMail.
