Web Design Opinions, Please

It seems too bunched, with all the information being pushed to the centre of the site. The headings are a disgusting shade of green IMO and the text underneath "more work recieved" is too hard too read. Dark grey against black in tiny writing rarely works.

Being really picky now, but, the font you have used as your logo, the "OVERTONEBLISS" is a very over-used eroded font, the rough edges etc do not match the clean simple layout you are trying to acheive.

Apart from that, it looks a nice smooth site.

One quick question, why are you planning on a Japanese version. Will you be offering services to people in Japan?
 
I'm doing Japanese, French, German and Spanish versions on the final site.

All simply to keep me on my toes with studying all of those languages, really, but if they so happen to approach me, then I'll be happy to do work for them.

I'm only confident enough to advertise to the German market though, but I doubt I'll be doing that to be honest. :)

Oh, and it's clear no one is happy with that site. Shame really, as I thought it was good. Oh well, back to the drawing bored. Not gonna give up 'til everyone is saying "wow" and it's worthy of all the popular CSS gallery sites ;) :p.

You'll never get everybody to say wow, not unless we all develop the same tastes and opinions.

I think the site is very nice, just a few things let it down IMO, its a nice looking site regardless, but I think you can do a lot better Phil :)

Are you a web designer? Probally not, Phil knows to take certain posters criticism well.
 
Looks good to me, although now youve added the bezel and gradient effects on the left hand side of the design, the flat right doesnt sit so well.

Seems strange to me that you are targeting so many different countries to me however, any reason for this?

Why are we fools? :rolleyes: Nobody has slated his site, we have given him constructive critisism, which is what he has asked for.
 
I think maybe the offset of the info from the headers makes it look a bit weird. Also I think the right hand column is too wide. I trust the main bulk of the text will be html/dynamic? Might be an idea to switch that to no aliasing to see what it looks like.

As for the new version I like the header and the raised images, but I'm not so keen on the dark grey background and green text, that's my personal taste though.

Layout seems to be nice, clean and simple, which is always good. :)
 
I like the second version of your Logo more than the first, its clearer. Personally I don't like the site nav on the right as its normal for people to process a page left to right (well in english rather than Japanese :D )

Can't say I like the green, but thats a personal thing ;) .
