Web design programs corporations use?

Hi,

With a bit of help, I may have a temporary job at a large firm that may - in part - involve updating their website. However, I'm someone who has only ever dealt with fixed pages, and I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me to how corporation websites tend to operate.

Well you'll need to know the language their site is written in for a start, which could be PHP, ASP, ASP.NET, JSP, or anything else. What design environment they use will depend on which of these languages they use.

If it's PHP or JSP, then they may be using Eclipse or something similar. If it's ASP.NET they'll be using Visual Studio.
