I use my head for design, Photoshop (yarrr!) for image stuff and skEdit for the HTML/CSS.

But I'm just an amateur.

Don't worry even professionals use that combination (skEdit / CS3).

If you're interested version 4 of skEdit rocks, a massive improvement on version 3.

You can use the WYSIWYG (design view) part but if you don't keep an eye on the code you could end up with some weird problems later

Quoted for the truth, he had to sort a whole page out for me the other week :p - Much appreciated!!!

Its only the beta thats out right? or have they fully released v4, v3 kept crashing randomly for me.
It would save my work just as it crashed, just annoying as I had to reopen the software and I couldn't apple+z anything :/

Personally I use CS3 + skEdit on mac :)

Version 3 is the stable release, and still works fine for me.

Version 4 is a beta release for testers only. In my mind it's not quite ready for public release yet though we're on the 8th beta release now.

For file based web dev, I used Eclipse.

Seaside (Smalltalk) uses the Squeak VM with it's IDE, which is undeniably the best DE - ever.

Photoshop or GIMP for pixel ****ing.

If you can do try and get hold of the latest beta v4.0b8, it's much better than the earlier betas with more functionality in place.

You don't have a link to the beta testing page do you? Sean emailed me the link but I don't have it anymore.

Email in trust if you can.

yeah I got the v4.08 beta a while ago but not been doing any work so not had a chance to use it really, only started to use remote file editing recently, nice feature as it saves live :)
