One.com appear to offer very competitive deals for web hosting - does anyone have any experience to share? As far as I can gather they are originally Danish but now "international". They don't appear in the web host review www.ochostreview.co.uk/ - Any comments?

Better asking in the html and programming sub-forum...I haven't any experience and don't know them myself. Always worth trying to remember when people are cheap, it's usually for a reason. But if you just want a no thrills options, don't care about backups and 100% uptime maybe they'll suit you.

I've been using them for a couple of years & no problems so far....

except that if you don't cancel at least 30 days before renewal you're locked in for another year :(

Does that mean thier servers are in Denmark?

What made you choose one.com?

Who cares? It's not a bad deal if they are, the datacenters out there are excellent and better priced than in the UK. A fair chunk of our european operations are hosted out there...

Im not disputing that, but you can get a better deal with a datacentre in the same country.

Personally I use eukhost their customer service is by far the best I have ever expierenced and their hosting speeds second to none.

Well not really a good start seeing as their page is not loading for me. lol

Edit, oh, it is, very very very very slowly ;), most of the content is timing out.

Actually that's rarely true and certainly when it is it has nothing to do with datacenter location, DC space in the UK is frighteningly expensive compared to just about anywhere else in Europe (and most of the US too). Plenty of UK web hosting companies (especially the little ones) host in continental europe or in some cases in the US. You'd be a fool to choose based on where the datacenter is.

It works if you type www. infront lol!

Not for me it dont ;)

It half loads there page, and times out, this is on my connection at work, and my connection at home

ah, there we go eventually

Looks ok i guess, however I would pay the extra £1 and a month and go with someone like TSO Host who are very good, Im on the £2.99 package and get 2.5GB Disk space and 10GB M/Bandwidth.

Not heard of One.com before but their slow loading site isn't a great advertisement for their services.

I use Fasthosts/UKReg but they may not be the cheapest.
