Was just looking for a link through my history for some webhosts someone recommended. This was in the thread where yantorsen got some free hosting off Raymond Lin i think, but with yantorsen having been deleted from the forum, that post/thread has now gone too :(

So can anyone remember what hosts they were?

P.S: Mod, please don't move this to the HTML section as the original recommendation was in Photography and the users may not lurk there. Thanks. :)

Sirrel Squirrel uses them as well, he uploaded something from his work and could upload at 50mb/s (his works limit) and the speed you can download from them is phoenominal, so you'll probably never max it :D

Nah wasn't them.

Price was around £40 for 2 years with excellent customer service.

Ohh and dunno why he was removed. Guess he just spammed a lot? :p

It was them , as i was the one that gave him his free hosting

edit:
and vidahost are known for the excellent customer service.

Servage are good, been with them for about 2 years, here's what you get:

510 GB Web space
5010GB Monthly data transfer
Unlimited Email Accounts
The Servers are Intel DUAL XEON Processors, SCSI Hard Drives, 12 GB Ram etc.
24/7 Expert Help desk in the uk
Secure Server (SSL) Included
Unlimited FTP Accounts
1000 MySQL Databases
Unlimited IMAP/POP3 Mailboxes
Unlimited Domain Hosting
Unlimited Auto Responders
Unlimited Mailing Lists

http://www.servage.net/

Costs £4.50 a month and includes a Domain name.

Very reliable as well. Plus if you recommend someone to join Servage you get an extra 25GB of web space, 2 months extra hosting as does the person signing up with them.
definitely worth a look :)

I think I'm going to sign up with register1 also, they seem very competitive for what you get if you sign up to two years.

One question though - if I already have a domain name registered, how does pointing it at the space which register1 supply me work? I see they can manage the name for you, I didn't really want to do that as I already have the name through 123-reg.net. I'd just like to point the domain to "the space" if you see what I mean.
