Been thinking about getting this soon..

Theres two options that i like:

Flext 35 Web 'n' Walk - Unlimited usage, 1GB Data, £180 Credit.

This is £37.50

Flext 35 Web 'n' Walk Plus - Unlimited usage, 3GB Data, £180 Credit.

This is £42.50

How easy is it to go over 1 or 3GB data?

Also what phone would you get? Will be used for browsing, texting mostly.

I would go for WnW basic :). I use WnW quite a lot and have never gone over my 1GB "limit". It does mean you might not be able to use IM.

WnW basic should be enough for basic browsing and I do believe theres a £5 off all line rental per month offer going on at the t-mobile site, which means you can get a 'free' upgrade to WnW plus or just save an extra fiver on the WnW basic

No IM or Skype.... although with http tunneling you can probably get around it.

MSN Live Messenger on N95 works perfectly on WnW basic. The 1GB, I believe, is a rough allowance. If you go over it, I don't think you are charged any extra. I believe if you consistently go over the limit, you will get a written warning, then sanctions.

you mean £37.50, and £5 extra?

Ah yeah sorry.

Was looking at normal Flext.

Ill be using MSN on it occasionally, and probably gonna get the N95, although im not sure yet. Wanting a phone thats good for internet, good camera & easy to text on.

My bad - meant when you hook it up with a pc :)

Not sure which to go for, WnW standard, or WnW Plus.

Can i still use instant messanging on the phone on the standard one?

Well im on the standard one now, using WnW with fring for msn usage. I've no idea how much i've used though on my VarioIII and im not sure how to find out either.

I reckon the WnW Plus is worth going for m8, I find being able to use my Vario II via my laptop as a modem is an absolute boon.

I cant recall exactly how much I pay for mine, I'm on a business plan as far as I remember its £37.50 per month for the Plus. I'll nip downstairs and find an invoice to check.

I only really went for the "Plus" for the modem option via laptop, comes in very handy indeed.

Just had a look, I'm on FlexT 25 Web N Walk Plus @ £31.90+VAT per month.

If I remember correctly, if you look at the T-Mobile online site and get a price which is usually cheaper than "in store" and then print it out and go into a store, they will match the online price.

I'm sure thats what we did.

*EDIT* No, hang on.....the handset price for the Vario II was cheaper online than in store, thats what they price matched. My mistake.

I believe it depends on what handset you go for under the chosen tariff.

You wont get any additional costs on top of the "per month" tariff itself ( unless you go over your allocated web browsing allowance, but you would need to be downloading a hell of a lot to do so :p ).

I use mine hooked up to my laptop quite a bit and I've yet to be anywhere near my download limits for browsing the web.

The Vario II I went for was advertised online at £69.99.

I think we printed out the online price and got it around £10-15 cheaper than it was instore.

I would recommend a Vario II as its a nice wee handset. I was wavering between it, a Nokia N95 and a Blackberry, but the fella in the store knew his stuff and suggested I went for the Vario II.

The prices for the Vario II might well be lower now since the Kaiser/Vario III has appeared, would be worth checking.

Also, dont want to appear to be a T-Mobile "fan-boi", but I've had not a bit of hassle with them since I signed the contract. Their Tech Support is excellent and most of it is based in Scotland so if you have any probs and call them, your not just getting shunted through to some call center abroad.

Are you in a 3G area?. I have found mine does well on 3G but HSDPA access seems to be pretty confined to larger towns and cities. Mind you, I'm up here north of the border where its cold....lol.

The 3G speeds seem pretty good enough for me anyway, its just a bonus when you enter an HSDPA area.

If you're not going to use it as a modem, I'd go for basic.

IM sounds good but in theory it's a pain, easier just whipping a laptop out.

I get flext35 and WnW+ for £35.60 btw, hurrah for 25% off *smug*

Have to agree about tmob, been with them for 18 months now and just renewed, never not jumped ship after a contract since vodafone in the 90s!

So say for example i get the Vario II for £70, the WnW for £42.50 and that'd be the only costs?

Just read something about an extra £3 or £5 a month for a charge of somesort.
