Webpage Size?

Hi,
Im just using photoshop to get some web page designs together, like the enter site page. I will then pass it on to the guy who puts the website together.... But what size canvas should i be using?

from 1000px - 600px width in my opinion

760px width is the maximum recommended fixed value for 800x600 resolutions. 960px for 1024x768.
