Website creation, how much should I be aiming to pay?

Damn, looking for web design companies on google is impossible - there are literally millions to choose from :eek:

Which sort of language should I be looking for, might narrow it down a little :p

language doesn't really come into it.

You shouldbe asking some questions like these: what do I want my web site to do? - to display products? or is it just to show that we offer a service? do i need CMS? do I really want it swish looking or will a reasonable job do? what's my budget? what about SEO, is that important for my website?

everyone should ask these questions before embarking on getting a website

For website design i'd receommend taking a look at simbax.com. I've used Simon in the past and he's got a nice style.

I'm not sure whether he would develop a complete package but its always worth asking. :).
