Is anyone else having trouble accessing the shop site? Been down for me for the last 30 mins.

Seriously what hosting/datacentre is OcUK using. Just did a trace route and the routing looks pretty horrendous.

It may or may not be to do with this https://twitter.com/DerpTrolling, been DDoSing ea.com, lol servers, dota servers, club penguin and generally whatever the **** it wants to. overclockers may be hosted on one of the servers that is getting DDoSed

Nah you're not naive, OcUK is a shop after all. Doubt they've got the time or manpower to be managing servers.

I'm a tech for an IT consultancy and we manage our own servers.

But seriously, has OcUK ever ran any self/independent tests on the suitability of their hosting and routing?

It looks as if the packets are leaving the UK, going to France, then Germany then Netherlands, then back to the UK. No sign of any UK regional internet exchange point which is extremely remarkable in a bad way. Could be precisely why so many people experience timeouts when requesting pages (myself included).

(I'm with Virgin Media.)

I'd be interested to know what bandwidth ocuk use as if I'm correct with the hosting company they're paying through the nose for what appears to be a shoddy service at times.

Unless they've just stayed with the same service as they grew.

That's from BT Infinity using a Linux traceroute. I've just refreshed the www.overclockers.co.uk site and it took several minutes to load, but eventually brought back a very poorly constructed page - which looked like it had retrieved some of the HTML but not all of it (can't upload any pics right now). The second attempt at refreshing the page (01:02am) simply said that the page had timed-out because overclockers was taking to long to respond.

That's my trace. I think it starts timing out because OcUK has blocked ICMP requests.
