Brum, Brum, Brum, Brum....
so i have started a new business with a few colleagues, and we have just launched the first version of our site.

there are a few errors (mainly spelling) but i wanted to ask if you can all have a look see and tell me what you think about the overall design and theme.

website is www.openmojo.com

Ta muchly!

BTW if you do like it, please click like in the facebook app so we can keep track!

Looks good mate, nice and simple yet stylish. I recommend adding a Google +1 button to the website, since it's becoming the focus of web page ranking for the search engine itself.

It's a good site. But here's changes you should make IMO

  • If you're going to use "Tabbed" style navigation it needs to sit flush with the upper edge of the body. It's about 4 pixels too high.
  • Footer needs tidying up. The Twitter icon looks out of place (there's already one in the header. And the logo in the footer should be downscaled.
  • Consider adding AddThis to the right side of the header. Currently you've got FB hidden in the contact section and twitter showing twice in the header and footer.
  • Your logo is ruined by compression artifacts, they shouldn't be so obvious, especially in your main logo.
  • Page titles. "OpenMojo Internet Site Page 1-15." isn't a good title.

Also the sentence "All we ask, is that if you find our advice helpful you write something nice about us afterwards that we can put on our website :-)" doesn't look professional. Rephrase it using the word "testimonial".

Thanks guys.

I was looking at google+ yesterday so glad Emphacy that you said the same.

Asim, thanks for the comments, i will have a look at the addthis.com site, it looks interesting. it does not appear to support Xara specifically, but i do think we can get it to work!

wasn't immediately obvious what your site is about - took me about 2 mins to find out

hmm, what would you suggest?

we are not expecting to get much if any business from the website. mainly what contacts we have had thus far have been from customer recommendations, so in that sense people already know about us.

but it would be good for it to be obvious!

i guess it needs to be in the banner where the following text is?

Discover the alternatives and experience the difference with OpenMojo If you're looking for Collaborative IT Solutions, mixed with a refreshingly different approach, all at very low cost then you've come to the right place!

Enterprise Thinking and Solutions without the price tag

It's broke in safari I think.

Also,

We know IT inside out, in fact you could say we've been around the block a few times! From managing large IT departments, implementing major clinical systems, and getting failing services back on track, we've been there, done it (and I think we got a few T-shirts). When you work with OpenMojo you don’t just get some consultancy, or a solution you get a totally different experience. From writing the business case to implementing the solution and supporting it afterwards, we’re there to take the hard work away and let your organisation sit

Just because of this paragraph would automatically close the page.

Yup.

Also wondering why you're called OpenMojo when you don't have anything open source.

hardware is no open source, however all the software other than a few is.

we havent mentioned the actual software intentionally, as we want to sell the features as being as good as the commercial proprietary systems

i will look at the banner, see what i can come up with, the plan was to replace that with a rolling banner type with several panels.

thanks mrbell1984 we will have a look. not sure we checked it in safari :o
