Hi all,

Im creating a new website, and I can do everything fine except for the graphics, all weekend i have being tryng to come up with something half decent that doesnt look amateur.

I have developed a base idea now. basically the site is split into 5 sections and in each section is 5 pages. In the image below, the coloured tabs along the top are the 5 different sections of the site, and the tabs at the bottom are the 5 pages.

In the next image you can see what i want to happen if the green tab is selected, i want the rest of the header to sort of follow suit, and the bottom tabs to. Although at the moment i cant decide how to highlight which page the person is on with the bottom tabs?

Just wondering if anyone could help me out and make it look a bit more professional, or any creative input to help develop the idea.

Thank you for your time

its literally a very basic 3 column layout with header across top on black background, thats it.

doesnt need to be anything more than that, would just be nice if the header/menu looked half decent

i reckon the black text on the tab buttons don't work too well, i reckon the text needs to be reduced in size, and maybe add a shadow on the text, try that, but really, like Jaffa_Cake said, it would be nice to see how the actual design that this header is going to be embedded into.

The text is too big and too bold, i don't like websites with black backgrounds; soften it down to maybe #222222; it's such a nicer tone, plus I think if you give the buttons a bit of room to breathe each side it might help and at the mo they seem to just be floating; seen as their's no defined content area. keep working on it and i'm sure it'll work well.

black background websites are ok, if you know how to work with it, but i reckon for your type of site, white would be better, or lighter colours, maybe a light grey... but header wise you still need to play around with the fonts on the buttons.
