Website newb with questions

I've been writing an ebook which I'm looking to sell. I'm currently in the process of writing it and building a website, but I wan't to buy the .com domain before anyone else gets their hands on it.

I'm a total newbie regarding domains registering and website hosting.

Do web hosts register domains or do you have to do them with different companies?

I'm hoping the website will have 4-5 pages with an ordering section where people will be able to pay with debit/credit/paypal and then download the ebook. I'm after a .com domain name and I'd be wanting a few emails with it aswell with fowarding to a gmail account.

How much am I looking at paying and which company should I go with?

Recommendations/advice please.

Yea, I've been looking at ochostreview.

So I can register my domain with godaddy, then host my site at my chosen .com domain with a completely different company?

So, if I want to sell my ebook from my website and I'm looking at anywhere between 500-10,000 hits in a month, could I get away with shared hosting?
