I am after any advise on this matter. Do any of you offer it and if so, what do you include in the service and for how much.

Thanks.

We're not allowed to offer it - against the forum rules!

But most companies will offer this, anything from £35/hour pay-as-you-go or quotes on a per-job basis. If they're charging less than that, they're probably new to the business or are freelance students :p But if you go with a company rather than freelance, you've got an office of people waiting at the end of the phone, rather than relying on a single persons availability.

Before you call that expensive, a web developer can get a lot of maintenance done in an hour. But even if something takes less than an hour, it wouldn't really be worth the company charging you less than an hours fee. I should expect the same applies for freelances and even students, too!

Sorry, just to make myself clear, I am not looking for someone to do work.

I am just wondering what people charged for an annual contract for a support/service agreement on a website. The theoretical site is done and is running its just a case of a company being there to make sure it runs eg provide hosting, backups, email maintenance, bug fixes etc
