Wedding albums

Holy smokes, thank you for this thread. After spending years on and off looking for a wedding album supplier, I 'think' I 'may' have just found one I actually really like.
All the ones I had found previously that I liked were all in the US which would be a PITA to order from.

Perhaps my taste is a little strange, but all the Loxley and Folio albums tend to remind me of DFS sofa leather, less so with Folio. Loxley and Folio seemed the best I could find, but still not what I was looking for.

Basically I was looking for a wedding album that would look good next to this box that I bought for my office. I wanted something with character.

So after googling some examples I liked so I could moan in this thread about non being available in the UK or EU, I ended up finding one LOL.

I'll register with the below company first thing in the morning and order a sample.

Yeh I know what you mean, it's a shame they are not in the UK. Still it's within the EU and delivery is free. If the below quote is true then it may still work out more economical even if there is the occasional 'problem' that needs to be 'written off' if the problem cannot be resolved. At the end of the day, I can't find anything else in the UK/EU I like better so far. So would rather not order something that for me, is second best just because it's a UK supplier.

"Affordability

This is where we can make a difference for your business. Our albums are as good as any other high end album company and almost half the prices of others. With fine art albums you will be able keep the standards high and reduce the cost to make your business more profitable.

Me to and glad I haven't spent much time trying to learn Indesign. The album supplier recommends Smart Albums.
Guess who seems to use Smart Album?
Check out the middle review...

Well, they only want a 300dpi jpeg output for the layout, I guess InDesign can do that.

That's the one RH uses, I remember seeing a little ad he's done for them ! lol

Been testing out SmartAlbums. Seems lightyears ahead of Indesign in terms of speed and ease of use. Templates are already there and look freaking good as soon as you drop the images onto a spread. Then you can change the design if you like by pressing the down arrow key to see if you like something better. So far I'm very impressed with this software.

How much is it and is there any discount codes going around?

I bought Fundy recently, which is the best program available for windows and pretty much exactly the same as Smart Albums (the program I really wanted).

It's excellent, album design is such an easy process now compared to using Loxleys clunky software.

Time it takes to design creatively. Ease of use. Quality of final product. And I do this for a living so it's worth the investment and time learning how to use it.

I also don't actually want any of the the albums from the sites that offer free but clunky software. I don't ever want second best if I can help it, and I just don't love any albums I've found in the UK.
Loxley is OK, but the smell and finish reminded me of when I was shopping for a new Sofa. It's a perfectly good album though but just doesn't quite seem 'special'. Folio was a little more to my taste but still lacking a certain 'something'. Obviously much of it comes down to taste though.
Queensberry are another company I often here people claim are 'the best', but I don't see it personally although I can't argue they don't have a very high quality finish. I just find it doesn't matter how good the finish is, if the product lacks soul.

I ordered a sample album using smartalbums and it should be here in the next few days. The guy's over in Turkey tell me they are very happy with how it's turned out, so hopefully I'm just as happy with it. Tbh I really can't fault their service so far, they let me even send them custom fonts so the album matches the look/branding of my blog.

Thanks for the reply, this is all new to me but something I'm looking into. Do you mind me asking how much it has cost you?
