Wedding albums

I've seen them all in person (went to a trade show), Queensbury and Jorgensen are two of the very best - aged leather, gold corners, wax sheet between pages, etc etc, you could bling it to the max. But what I found interesting was that all that was doing was driving the price of the product up, both for me and my client what is the most important was that behind all these gold corners, the actual paper that the images is printed on, I couldn't tell the difference. I find loxley's top of the line albums have great feel for prints, colours and good, they last, I have a sample album made 5 years ago that is still like new.

Have you used/seen Loxleys fine art albums? I had a sample print sent to me and it looked great, just couldn't imagine the what the album would be like from a small 6x4 floppy print!

I think so, it was 3 years ago, I went to their stand, the show is the one in Hammersmith, what I recall is that the more expensive album are nicer in terms of the covers mostly, but actualy quality where it's counted, like binding, the spine, colours, paper, the structure of the actual printed page (how thick a belissilmo page is), the more expensive book isn't any better really. It was hard to swallow even for me where is the triple amount of costs are going (as that will be passed to the client) so if it's hard for me to swallow, imaging how a client would react.

At the time I was looking for a more contempory feel of albums, bold colours to go with my style of photographs, but I'm feeling something that matches the USB stick that comes with the photographs.

Thanks, I'll have to try and catch them at a roadshow this year.

I offer the belissimo and 90% of our clients go for that, we have Jorgensen Styla as a demo album and offer it as our most expensive but it is so expensive to buy, especially once it's been customised.

Although I had a very poor experience with the last Jorgensen I ordered which was printed awfully. Then did collect and replace it free of charge but the delay isn't great for the couple!

Yeah thanks mate, happened around 4 weeks ago and totally screwed us. Backup has failed so pretty much got to start again from scratch :(
I have wiped the site around a week ago though so I'll point google spiders at it again so it updates.

Absolutely gutted, and with it being the wedding season and starting a new full time job with a bit of a commute, we're struggling to fit the rebuild in.

Tempted to look at something other than Wordpress as it just seems so prone to this kind of crap. Over 4 websites I've built on wordpress (using the most expensive themes from themeforest) this kind of thing/hack has happened at least 10 times in the last year.ProPhoto looks ok but the stanard themes look pretty poor and the add on themes seem pretty expensive..

Dread to think how many enquiries we've lost the last 4 weeks.

Wordpress is the nicest to use imo as well as the prophoto theme (which I use).
Still it's incredibly vulnerable and a couple of years ago I was hacked with Malware.
Hadn't even got a backup. Needed a complete rebuild, although I was able to salvage the assets like content and logo's etc.

Then I installed iThemes Security onto my blog. (free plugin)
Never been hacked since. If someone tries to login now and get it wrong 3 times, their IP get's banned for an hour. This is enough to prevent brute force attacks that WP is prone to.

What I wanted to see on your site, was the price difference of the Jorgensen and Loxley albums you charge to your customers. Not sure whether I should revisit my album pricing at the moment.

Thanks I'll definitely get that plugin installed!
