Wedding evening party - dress code?

Jeans are fine. Went to one the other day, some people were still in suits, but prob only 15 or so out of over 100. One guy even went dressed as a goth! Just play it safe and wear a shirt. I wore a tie and felt overdressed as nobody else had bothered lol
Obviously each one is different but I think this is the standard way of doing things.
