I really like how your style has matured, you seem to have reduced the number of funny angles and things that used to really bug me! I was rather hoping the civil ceremony in was going to be the whole thing that would have been such a cute wedding and totally against the current spend spend spend trend.

Nothing to do with the photos really but too many! Speed scrolled through hundreds and probably missed some good ones.

Love an Indian wedding and bahrat! You got some good shots there. Like your processing throughout too, and the slow shutter speed ones.

Also really recognise the groom for some reason, maybe just a recognisable face!

Showing different areas of London we drove through while in taxi.

But it's not relative to the wedding. It's a throw away image. I'd bin it if it were me.

Your style clearly reflects that they were in London and what parts of London they were in. To me it looks like just a random image of somewhere in London with no signs of a wedding happening...

Just my 2p. Up to you of course :)

I'll probably ditch it along with a few others in a few weeks.
These pictures were copied from by blog post. When I do a blog post, some of the image selection is for the B&G's benefit. During the taxi ride, bride was pointing out what all the different areas of London were (as she knows I don't know London well). So the point of this picture is to trigger her memories and take her back on a journey through the day. Picture is of course irrelevant outside of her experience.

Cool!

That makes sense then and answers my original question :)

Up until the picnic, I was thinking, wow, that'd work well for a wedding I am currently planning and then the bigger detailed ones came and got it back to the "traditional" route.

Great coverage, PP isn't here there and everywhere. I think this makes a good wedding coverage for something that looks to have happened at least over 3 days?

Enjoyed it.

Too many photos, but some great shots there.

One thing, this image is lost on me.

What's the point of it?

I get that with a few of the photos and have mentioned the same in previous sets by An Exception. Maybe it means something to the couple.

As to the Too many photos, I agree however I will say it is very nice to see a complete set of photos of the entire wedding rather than the select best 5. This gives you a much better understanding of the expected quality that An Exception can produce as a set, rather than the lucky half dozen that even an average photographer could get. So for that I congratulate him but I do think that the post in OCUK could do with maybe 2 dozen and then a link to the whole album somewhere else for those interested.
Then there also seems to be some missing Quality control to remove duplicates. 524 and 525 are very similar I prefer 525 and would only have included that in the set. Similarly, 481 and 482 are similar but 482 is miles better. 481 goes to the trash can for me (groom is looking away).

Too much similar photos and mediocre photos just brings the quality of the set down. Give someone 300 outstanding photos vs 600 photos with the same 300 outstanding and another 300 filler and people will think much more highly of the smaller set.

If you are booking a wedding tog you definitely want to see the entire set that a typical couple will get, not the bets 2-3 photos from each of the last 5 years of weddings. However, in this context it is hard to give any feedback because you just get lost.

To An Exception, I agree with a1ex2001, like the better consistency without weird angles just for the sake of being a weird angle.
I think the processing is better than before as well. There is some selective focusing going on that I still don't like, e.g.

The women in front is just distracting.

Some of them don't look very sharp though, maybe just the down-sampling to web.
e.g., I guess the bride is in focus but she isn't sharp to my eyes, whats more I reckon that focusing on the groom would be better. Soft focus is feminine, hard sharp focus is masculine.

Soft?

Cutting her head off is really not a good look, especially when the close up of the man does have his head.

An awkward pose and the composition fails for, big dark space to the left . A portrait orientation using the 2 tree as natural framing would be what I hoped I would think of at the time.

Composition and lighting doesn't work
http://www.rhysphotograph.me/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/27-15763-post/Wedding_Photographer_513.jpg

Composition problem for me. a load of guests cut off on the right to include the tree. The tree is nice, so I think a wider angle or backing up is needed, but that will make the couple too small - so I would then ignore the tree and get inc lose and more of the RHS

Either a wider or smaller aperture to make sure the wedding couple in foreground are either fully focused or more defocused

Awkward compositon. Groom and bets man slightly soft and at edge of frame looking out of the frame. Bridesmaid smaller and well to the right, blank space in the middle. Not sure what the subject is?

You've got the back of everyone

The wedding followers a re too small in the frame, there i s a lot of sky and it is just damn boring

Some of my favs
EDIT: Screw it, way too many excellent photos throughout the set to picks any favorites!:)

Thanks DP for the feedback, it's much appreciated. :)

Just to pick up on a couple of things.
Below picture is shot at ISO 6400 F1.8 1/60. There is a bit of movement, but would gladly take softening over flash if it means keeping the atmosphere of the lighting. But more importantly not altering the atmosphere of the event by becoming distracting. Even if you like flash doing it outside and making it look good is tricky without going off camera.

Agree about composition. However I am shooting around 2 videographers (one stationary and one moving around) which means you don't always have compositional freedom. If I moved my camera to the right I would have videographer in the frame. I included it as it adds context. For me deciding which pictures to include/not include is a balancing act between quality Vs context. I could probably crop in this case, but then I lose a bit of context.

Oh and post processing hasn't changed in 3+ years. ;) :)

Enjoyed the storytelling. :)

What was the pupose of the second time she walked down the aisle? Thought the civil wedding was already done in London, in intimate company.
