Weeds between wall and tarmac in garden

Hi guys,

Just moved into a rental house its an old terrace with a tarmac garden. I'm fed up of pulling weeds from the sides of the garden in between the tarmac and wall.There's a 5 mm space around the edges that has filled up overtime with muck and its almost like a really fertile soil as the weeds get big real quick.

Anyway was wondering if there's anything I can do about sealing the sides up with something that will solve the problem???

Little kids are in the garden a lot and my Mrs does not want me to use weed killer because of that

Weedkiller won't hard your kids. Just keep them away until its dry.

If you don't like weed killer then try spraying with cheap white vinegar on a hot day, weeds hate it.

I just try to avoid a argument and the resulting headache if I can.

I will try the natural alternatives as suggested in this thread first. The add a bit of weed killer on top.

Scrape out the crack and fill it. Liquid bitumin joint compound should work.

I would scrape out the soil and refill with sand, it will make it harder for the weeds to take hold.

To be honest, though, straight weedkiller will be safer

napalm, always works well on weeds, or annoying other halves
