30th of Oct would suggest a later week chip (ie 38). Yours was probably packed later, but made earlier (if that makes sense....)
 
I've just received a 6600 with the following batch No: L628A376, can anybody tell me if thats a good batch for overclocking?

Got me e6600 28a upto 3.8 with 1.65v.
 
Can't stress this enough. It really is the luck of the draw.

Sweet spots for 6600 are 3.6 and 3.8 after that unless you have expensive memory you have to start knocking the timings back. 3.6-3.8 around stock are hard to find and that is what you should be looking at. I went through about 30 chips to find Jamies chip. Week 29A, 30A are nice chips generally

Will be testing a 29B when I find the time.
